I took my wife (then girlfriend) to see that one in the theater. It was pretty much packed full and I was almost the only person laughing out loud. I think she was a little embarrassed but somehow she stuck with me. The scene where he is eating grits (trying to get just one on his fork) gets me every time. "I've never actually seen a grit before"

Fred Gwynne was awesome in that movie.

It is a really well done movie. "... the youts" "Youts?" It was just so well cast. Gynne was perfect compliment of Pesci.

Finally watched Spaceballs beginning to end. Only have seen it in bits and pieces.

Well done. It is a little dated. A few of the jokes will only be understood by those that grew up in the 80s/90s. But there were enough general jokes that my daughter enjoyed it (8 years old)

That said, a solid 8/10.

Oh, it's on Netflix.

Bill Burr: I'm Sorry You Feel That Way -- 7/10
If you like Bill Burr, you'll enjoy it. If you can't stand the guy, don't bother. I do think he went on a little too long about religion -- and no, that's not something that offends me, it just went on way too long and wasn't really that funny -- but other than that it was pretty good. Available on Netflix streaming.

No. I'd have no problem with someone casting her as Batman. She could do it. :D

There are better shows on Netflix with him. This shouldn't be the first you watch if you've never seen his standup.

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia(Netflix):
Season 7 Episode 2: The Gang Goes to the Jersey Shore - 10/10

I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time. I'm going to be bummed when I finally get caught up on this show.

Fury

I'll go 7.7/10, good action movie that looks like it's trying for Oscar drama with a straight face too hard.

August: Osage County -- 8.5 / 10

Wow. Because I wasn't in the mood, it took me three goes to get through it. This part of the first review on imdb sums it up nicely:

Some takeaways:

Is there a better actor on our particular planet than Meryl Streep?

Because of some early lightweight/medium weight roles and all her attendant celebrity hype, I never thought much, either way, about Julia Roberts. Guess what? That woman can act!

Chris Cooper is always quietly excellent in whatever he's in.

Juliette Lewis can play anything from a boozy, ditzy, oversexed twerp to another boozy, ditzy, oversexed twerp. I love her anyway!

Sounds like something I'd like, have to check it out.

Funny, I saw Meryl on a top 10 most over rated actors list the other day.

I sat through the whole thing but man was it way too slow for me. It did have some great performances from Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, but I was bored with the film overall.

I like movies like that if well made, I liked Tinker,Tailor,Soldier,Spy and most people thought that was too slow I guess.

Mullholland Drive - Excellent mystery, I taped it and watched the last ~20 minutes twice but do not understand the ending, Still a well done movie
Reminds me a little of the recent FOX series Gracepoint, seems a lot of TV shows I like start out on British TV

He had the whole series years ago.

Even older.

Dennis Hopper was really weird in that one.

A Good Day to Die Hard (Die Hard 5): 3/10

Watched this on HBO GO last night. Terrible....this movie lacked every essence of the previous movies. I am doubting that the writer(s) or director(s) ever watched a die hard movie in their lives. This movie doesnt even deserve to have Die Hard in the title.

FWIW my rankings of the movies in the series

Die Hard
Die Hard: With a Vengeance
Live Free or Die Hard
Die Hard 2

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1: 3/10

Could someone make part of a series without spending the entire time setting up the next one in the franchise already? Not only was every single thing predictable, it just dragged and was flat all around. I think Jennifer Lawrence really dropped the ball on this one. And Remy from House of Cards didn't once mention Frank Underwood... The entire effort came off uninspired and nothing more than a "hey, there is going to be another movie!" stupidness.

Predictability was the least of its problems.

You predicted that she would climb down while the Tracker Jackers were still swarming and killing everyone and magically survive without being stung? How about the leader of the group attacking their guard for failure when their landmines did exactly what they were supposed to do as far as they knew? The movie (and, I assume, the book) is full of nonsense and the rest is uninspired trite.

Oh, I know. It had a semi interesting premise: a tyrant government, in order to keep the people from rebelling, takes a bunch of your children and forces them to kill each other for public viewing and a round of free toasters for the winning district!

Watched again the only time America (in the 50 states) ever got bombed: Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck.

Disclaimer:
Well that doesn't count Alaska and Oregon being bombed in WW2. And doesn't count the central U.S getting slightly bombed (the bombs attached to balloons the Japanese sent over the U.S. in WW2 some of which exploded over Texas and other states but did very little damage.) But none of those are any big deal and the balloon bombs weren't even real bombings, I mean not like regular real normal bombings done with planes. And the civil war 80 years earlier with all the artillery .. that's not regular bombing, that was just field artillery not what you consider being bombed even though there were no planes then. Same with the 1993 bombing of the WTC in NYC, that was just some guy in a truck bomb not a real regular bombing by aircraft. And 9/11 wasn't a bombing like a regular airstrike or even like the balloon bombings. When you think of America being bombed you don't think of it like 9/11 which wasn't even with enemy aircraft, you think of Pearl Harbor.
