Yeah I know, but sometimes ya gotta look the other way a little bit and just go with it I guess.
Prometheus doesn't have the loads of plot holes people seem to claim it does anyway, it mostly just leaves a lot open to interpretation, which is an entirely different thing. If people don't like that, OK by me, but the actual plot holes in Prometheus are nothing out of the ordinary, IMO.

Yep, but I avoid arguments about that one more or less.

Yeah, I've never felt the need to argue the point, and certainly won't here, everyone has made up their minds on the movie one way or another. I don't think the movie is perfect, but like you said, just look the other way; which I have no problem doing if a movie can give me a good enough reason to.

Gone Girl:
5.0/10 - Extremely overrated, a lame lifestyle movie on a big budget. So many plotholes and unlogical things I had a hard time to watch. No plot twist, no mystery etc. Ultimately a really bad film.

The Maze Runner:
7/10 - watchable. Easily digestible. Cheap entertainment. But could be worse.

Predestination:
9/10 - Spectacular. Brilliant. A movie that makes you go WTF.

Grand Budapest Hotel 7/10 Quirky.

Just watched this last night, and loved it! I would give it 9/10. The humor was freaking awesome, and I loved the pacing and character developmet throughout the film.

No reviews of Gone Girl?

Gone Girl 8/10: Holy shit. I liked it a lot. It was a crazy psycho thriller indeed. I don't want to get into the story, any bit would be a spoiler. I haven't seen a movie that's been as refreshing as this which kept me gripping to my seat.

The wife and I enjoyed it thoroughly.

Watched this a few nights ago with the wife and we both liked it. We'd rate it maybe 7.5/10. Didn't care so much for the ending....wish it would have come to a more definite conclusion.

Unbroken - 8/10

-No complaints about Jolie's directorial debut
-"No-name" cast led by Jack O'Connell supports the movie
-I didn't read the book. But I have the feeling the movie is true to the story.
-The movie is about 20-30 minutes too long.
-Americans need a reminder of what "strong" people really look like.
-Not necessarily a must-see on the big screen.

just watched tmnt (2014) again, but this time in 3d ... still a flat out fun movie. do not understand the hate for it at all. yeah, it's different than the original - get over it. it's still just a flat out fun movie. 3d was alright in it. it starts out with a bit of shaky cam which is bad in 3d, but it slowed down a bit as the movie went on (or i just got used to it) and i enjoyed it a lot.

Hobbit: Five Armies - 6/10

-Meh
-The Hobbit series has overstayed its welcome with 3 movies.
-Just too much going on at the end.
-The worst of the three Hobbit movies.
-It's too long.
-It's not LOTR.

But I didn't feel any growth from wes anderson. It was more of the same from his previous work.

You could not be more wrong. You are the reason they think it's OK to ruin movies in the ways they did. :colbert:

Prometheus is, by far, the worst big budget movie I've ever seen.

Hobbit Battle Of Five Armies

Went to see this with the family today. We all thought it was the best movie of the three by far. Was very entertaining and aside from the typical over the top action sequences was great.

I haven't seen it yet but will soon but I've been unimpressed overall with the Hobbit movies. I'm sure it's due to the fact that the spread out one book into three movies so they are spreading the content much too thin. I do think Smaug was better than the first. These movies just feel off to me. They are visually beautiful movies though just like the LoTR.

Hobbit Battle Of Five Armies

5/10

I am a huge LOTR fan and was looking forward to the entire Hobbit movies, but this was by far the worst of all 6.

It was just like the star wars prequel. CGI everywhere and extremely fake looking.

If your character in the movie has a name, he is a superhero capable of killing 500 enemies by himself in ways that defy all physics.

It had a few good moments, but way too many bad fake moments mixed in. And again, peter Jackson has just taken CGI to a new level. I think one dwarf was fully CGI entirely.

I am glad the series is over and hope Peter Jackson moves away from Tolkien.

I guess I am one of the few who thinks that The Passion of the Christ is the most accurate depiction of Christ's crucifixion ever made. It may seem like a snuff film but execution of any type isn't pretty.

I give it a 10/10. Powerful, beautiful film.

To be fair: since we don't know anything factual about this event, you could film 3 space aliens engaging a brown turnip in debate whilst it is suspended over a dunk tank of boiling water and claim that it is just an accurate depiction of Christ's execution. :p

Personally, I watched about 20 minutes of Mel's anti-semitic tirade and changed the channel. Shame, because Mel has made some awesome flicks. Personally, I see no value in defining Christ by the way he died rather than the way he lived. The craziest and most deplorable of Christians seem to put great value in this part of the story, in my experience, and it always makes me wonder.

RedLetterMedia did a great review of the sequel, using the original for comparison / contrast.

In case you didn't know, they place such great emphasis because, for whatever reason, us sinners could only be "saved" because God lived as the only sinless man and suffered / died / went to hell on behalf of all us sinners.

Cheech and Chong's: NICE DCREAMS 2/10 (IFC HD)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082163/

Yet another rambling C&C movie with no plot at all I was surprised when I saw the synopsis about house-sitting or something. That just didn't even happen in the movie I saw. IFC says they don't edit movies for time or content...so I dunno.

Just absolutely awful in every way.
