The Equalizer - 5/10 - most phoned in film ever.

Snowpiercer - 6/10 - well made but completely pointless patchwork of previous films.

Exodus: Gods & Kings (3D)

6.0/10.0
I'm waiting for the director's cut that I'm sure will show up on Blu-Ray. Scott is well known for editing his movies down to please the studios and releasing his version later. The director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven is one of his best films, and while I've never seen the theatrical release, it got a similar reception as Exodus theatrically.

Oh I forgot one.

Frozen 9.5/10: Disney is BACK!!! without resorting to Pixar! I'm too lazy to list out Disney's adaptation to modern society- 'don't marry strangers', 'life isn't perfect after meeting that perfect prince', 'sisterly love triumphs over romance twist', etc...

And finally an amazing musical score. Disney entered the dark ages after Lion King. Frozen brought it right back.

3/10 The apparition.

Was fun, but they could have made a more interesting twist in the story line.
I was hoping for a twist in the plot but it did not happen. It was as if the money was finished before the movie was.

The Conversation - 8.5/10

Another one I recently revisited having just picked it up on Blu-Ray. A paranoid and regretful character driven film, within a slow burning thriller plot. A real classic, that left me feeling a bit uneasy, which is good thing of course. Fantastic score as well.

9/10 The wolf of wall street.

What a great movie, these are the kind of movies where you secretly envy the character but at the same time you know you would not want such a lifestyle.
I had a lot of laughs, this movie will turn into a classic. What a comedy.
And then to think that it is based on a true story. Are all these weird scenes based on anecdotal information ?

I do have to mention, Leonardo DiCaprio is perfect for the role, but i find he looks older then 26. I guess it fits the life style from the character he is portraying in the movie.
Hell, i could still be 26 then (After a 6 months diet and work out). :)
(yeah yeah i know, i wish i had Leonardo's charismatic looks).

guardians of the galaxy - 6 or 7/10 - movie was alright. definitely overhyped and did not live up to the hype that everyone gave the movie. it was a fun movie, took a while to get going, but it was pretty forgettable to me. i just wasn't a fan of many of the characters other than rocket. he stole the show for sure. the others, other than groot, i don't even remember their names.

Guardians of the Galaxy - The "Groot" joke got old fast. The backstories for the five was not really well cover so there wasn't much to go on as opposed to say the Avengers where most of the main characters got their own movies prior to the Avengers.

7/10

Thanos was showed at the end of the first Avengers movie. Was that for the purpose of this movie then and not the second Avengers?

I enjoyed Guardian, couple things, the voice was off on the fox, like he tried to hard. They needed different 70s/80s music imo.

You know what surprised me ?

Margot Robbie reminded me of that comedy "Not another teen movie". I thought it was her but it was not. It was Jaime Pressly.

TV: I've been watching the Honeymooners on YouTube lately. Yes, the show is old. But it's still funny. Audrey Meadows was a fox! 10/10

Movies: I saw Mama on HBO. The father kills his wife and takes his children in the forest. A ghost lives there and kills the dad. The ghost takes care of the children for the next 5 years. They eat cherries and have no contact with other people. It had some scary moments, and the ghost was frightening. 7/10

It's a Wonderful Life - 8/10 - First time watching it yesterday. Took about 3 decades and unemployment, but I did it. The black and white, old fashioned acting turned me off. A 100 Simpsons and Family Guy references now make sense. That Donna Reed was hot... she died before I was born.

Trading Places - 8/10
This movie holds up so well, the comedic bits are still funny, and still a good story to follow. The clothing and technology is dated, but that doesn't take away from it IMO
And Jamie Lee Curtis... wow...

LOL, you should see her in a Fish called Wanda!

Yea reviews don't sound great. Netflix has been on a roll with some of their shows, not every one is going to be great.

True Lies is the ultimate Jamie Lee Curtis movie. Though your suggestion is good too.
Yep, although she was smoking (and less dressed) in Trading Places. But True Lies . . .

Only comparison comes to mind is Linda Hamilton in Terminator 2, both movies where great actresses did absolutely incredible jobs of physical toning.

Last great movie we saw was "Now you see me", definitely 10/10.
