Batman: Attack on Arkham - 9/10
Solid DCAU movie. Don't expect a lot of Batman though, since it's more focused on the Suicide Squad. New voice for Joker is the second coming of Mark Hamil.
I'm here bitches! (No spoilers in that clip)

Snowpiercer - 7/10
Sooo many questions. Didn't help that I watched it without subtitles. Interesting premise though. There's an animated prequal floating around somewhere so that explains a bit more.

Oh, Grumpy Old Men - 10/10 - Havn't seen it in a long time but haven't seen it mentioned here. If you have never seen it, give it a shot. It's about two old guys that are neighbors that are trying to date the attractive new lady that just moved in. Their all older people. The old guys were Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau. They killed it.

Such a classic. And even the sequel was damn good.

Lone Survivor -- 8/10
Exactly what I expected it to be. Don't really have much else to say about it.

3 Days To Kill - 8/10 (if you like action movies) -- Netflix streaming

Luc Besson (Leon: The Professional, The Fifth Element) wrote this popcorn movie with Kevin Costner as a career CIA killer who is dying . . . unless he takes that "one last job."

It has decent writing with good action and some humor about him trying to reconnect with his teenage daughter. It's much lighter than serious movies like Taken.

dumb and dumber to is funny, but it does seem like they are "trying" to be the old characters.

and i like grumpier old men better than the first one. if you haven't seen it, you should see that one too.

Alot of people saying the sequel is good. Maybe I'll grab both.= for the holidays. Tehy should be kid safe .... ehhhhh ... I better research it.

British crime mini series are the bomb. So much better than the schlock we get over here.

If you haven't check out Broadchurch and The Missing. 9/10 for both.

Snowpiercer

I couldn't believe how bad this movie was. It is just a collection of stolen cliches.
It was still fun to watch, but the acting was horrendous and the plot was horrible.

No idea how it has such a high rating everywhere.

Notable movies/cliches is stole from: The Matrix, The Truman Show, Hunger Games, Soylent Green

Because it's an awesome absurdest genre piece that is done very well. We don't get enough of those these days.

haha nice little site, though I got super excited when it told me than Leviathan(2014) was available but then the link brought me to http://www.amazon.com/Leviathan-Geo...&sr=1-1&keywords=leviathan&pebp=1418142859189

Yeah B&N got me with that one too. :(

-1/10 Dylan Dog Dead of night.

This movie was so bad VLC player refused to play the dvd. Windows media player played it however. Looks like the props were reused from Buffy the vampire slayer.

watched yesterday Predestination
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2397535/

having a hard time talking about this film without spoiling it; i did not like it. i like Ethan Hawke and enjoy anything he's in, the film is decently shot but the story is piss-poor and very easy to figure out entirely almost immediately.

imho 5/10.

I thought I was the only one.

Apologists need to stop the bullshit. The movie was absolutely terrible.

I won't because it's awesome for what it is. The Blu-ray showed up at my house yesterday and I can't wait to re-watch the film over the holidays.

Except that it isn't. The Hinger Games BS was uninspired BS in The Hunger Games too no matter how much the author claims to have not been aware of previous stories like it. Then there's stupid stuff like a zombie kid doing... something while being unresponsive. Are we supposed to care? So the kid is brainwashed or something and won't respond when our hero appeals to him... big deal. Why do we care? What was the kid even doing in that chair thing? What was the point? Answer: it looked cool and freaky in another movie so we shoved it in ours.

I only saw the first Hunger Games and thought it was complete shit, not necessarily because it was using things from other films, which it most obviously did, but because it was poorly written, acted, and directed. If you want to hate films which borrow things stuff from other films, then you are going to end up hating like 90% of all movies.

Sure, some films do it more elegantly than others, but that is what genre pics do; they do things that are indicative of the genre and just place them in a, hopefully, new and interesting world. That is why horror movies are horror movies; 95% have many of the same things happening in them, it's just how they are presented and what other elements are brought to the table.
