Wow that was quite a movie. I still don't quite know what to make of the last 30 minutes/ending but I really enjoyed it. The cast and acting was excellent, as was the visuals and sound/music. I'd like to see it again actually; for me it's the type of movie that requires more than one viewing to understand enough.
Nolan sure does love playing around with time in his movies (except Batman I suppose).
I saw it this morning with my son and we were both blown away. So much emotion and I agree with you that the cast and acting was superb. So many interesting characters and the writing and acting really enables you to develop an emotional connection to them. It is a beautiful... a human story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I want to see it again because I know there are things I missed.
I'm going to give it a 9/10. The only reason I don't give it a 10/10 is because I think there is no such thing as perfection but this comes as close as I've seen.
Taking Chance (2009) - 9/10. Had never heard of it till i was flipping through Amazon Prime movies to watch. Its a HBO movie and well done. The description of the movie basically tells it all. It follows a Marine Officer who takes a fallen Marine home. Lots of sad moments but lots of heart warming moments as well. Its worth a watch IMO. its only an hour 20 or so. But it is a good look at how our fallen soldiers make it home

dumb and dumber to - 6/10 - as expected it could not live up to the hype. i'd definitely give the original a 10/10 and still to this day one of my favorite movies and it never gets old, but this one just felt like they were "trying" to be harry and lloyd of the past, and not actually BE the characters. now that said, there were some HILARIOUS parts, like big time LOL parts. and i definitely picked up on some subtle jokes that took a second or two to get, so i'm betting on a second watch there will be more of those too. but overall it just felt like they couldn't quite get the same feel of the original, which isn't surprising. i also feel that them LOOKING older but trying to act the same just felt somewhat off.

Quick question for the people that saw Interstellar but was the music extremely loud at times to the point where not only was it hard to hear them talking but actually started to hurt?
I don't mind loud explosions as they are usually over quick but the music at times lasted for awhile unless it was the theater that screwed something up.
I quicklyyyy glanced at the interstellar thread on here and it seemed like a common complaint. I didn't have any problems except for michael caine's final scene
It could have been horribly cheesy, or Theodore could have been made to look like a weirdo, but luckily they didn't take that route. Anyway, it never really grabbed me either, so a subjective 7 from me too.
big hero 6 8/10. really good movie. baymax is awesome. such a likeable character. i saw it in 3d and i thought it worked well. ending credit scene was pretty funny and unexpected.

I had a whole thing typed up yesterday, but I lost it all because the forums were down for maintenance when I hit Post. So that's all gone.
I've watched it with a couple friends, and we all agree that the second one was the worst of the three. We're divided about which is the best though. One friend thinks it's the first, my other friend and I think it's the third. It's pretty close though.
The acting was good, with a few exceptions of instances where minor characters really could have been a lot more convincing in their roles. All the major actors were very good, though I'm not quite sure whether Niedermann is supposed to be that blank or whether the actor was trying for something else but could never get it.
The story and progression of such was great. It's a nice change from all the superhero movies and special effects blockbusters I've seen recently when a movie will try and interest you on the back of its story. It was well thought out, well-paced, and I don't recall ever getting the feeling that a character was speaking on the audience's behalf, which I felt kind of ruined Interstellar's character development and acting. The only thing left unclear to me at the end was
why Niedermann would want to kill Salander after Valachenko had died. We came up for a few theories for why, but at the end of the movie we were still wondering
.
I was tossing up between an 8 or a 9 for this movie. On the one hand, I gave Interstellar a 7, and this is a much better movie. But on the other hand, I really hate grade inflation.
Big Hero 6 - 9/10 - pretty much a perfectly done movie. The fail was a montage in the middle of the movie that just did not work. The music was just wrong (too quiet and lacking inspiration).
