Someone needs to make a Comic Book Hero spoof movie. i'd pay to see that.

From the looks of it, Birdman has its own highly tangential take on the subject. It's a movie I want to see, if only because of its subtitle, The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance!

My most likely date wants to see Interstellar instead. And, while I know that, if I'm going to see Interstellar at all, the theater is the place to do that, I have a feeling I'm going to end up at least as annoyed as I am "enthralled" by it . . . because cranky elitist geezer.

Super is my favourite of those hero knockoffs. Defendor is pretty good too.

there's nothing wrong with using comic book stories to make films. but please don't use the same f* personalities, jokes, cookie cutter badassness, as every "i'm a badass" movie ever. i've seen it. a dozen times. i'm bored, it's always the same f* thing.

It really is quite fatiguing with two or three Marvel movies a year lately, 4 this year, and Wikipidia is showing 5 for 2016 and 17. More power to them if they can further exploit the market, but it always surprises me seeing how excited people still get for these movies every time there's a trailer.

The problem is that these movies are actually good now. Back in the day all of them were horrible.

yeah. I can appreciate how their saturation is "ruining" things, and I am rather sick of them. ...but they are largely much better than what they were before.

And as there is no way around big dumb idiot summer movies, at least these end up being the best of that bunch.

Yep, agree with this. I'll take it compared to a lot of the crap we got in the past.

What was that movie the same as?

It's a cookie cutter comic book genre movie. Same pig, different color lipstick.

I'm 38 and as you get older you start getting pissed when there is lack of originality. Story matters more and more and it gets harder and harder to enjoy a movie. Movies that are formulaic suck.

I think you are just getting older and pissed.

That was a different movie entirely than others.

Did you see it just as a cam rip or something?

Makes me nervous. I love the original so much, I worry this sequel will just make me sad. Hope I'm wrong!

yeah the first one is one of my favorites and it never gets old, was watching it on comedy central last night and still find it hilarious. i feel they are showing WWAAYY too much stuff on the trailers for this movie though, so much that not much new will be left in the actual movie. but i'm just hoping that they have little things that will make it hilarious.

like in dumb and dumber, there are SSSSOOOOOO many little things that make it hilarious. just the scene in the restaurant there are so many little things. like when lloyd "has an idea", or when he's pointing out harry when sea bass is walking over, or just the way he talks to the waitress when telling her that the check is on seabass, and when he then tells harry that he learned that trick in a horror movie, and in the movie the guy ends up killing them down the road lol.

so many little subtle things that just never get old.
