Interesting review. Tough to get anything out of it because the Zalman barely edged the retail cooler, although that Leadtek 6800GT is supposed to have one of the best stock coolers in the business.

It would be nice to have a reference point, like a comparison to either a Silencer or the VF-700 Cu.

Yeah, not a very good review that is.

I really need this cooler to perform well since I would like to modify my X1900 XTX.
We'll have to wait for a better review!

Considering it runs @ 25 dB, that's great performance . . . but damn that price tag needs to go down by about $20 before I would buy it . . .

umm.. they keep hinting at this being compatible with the x1900xtx..

what I can't believe is that they didn't base the review on that card !!

everyone's complaining about the x1900xtx running too hot and noisey.. an efficient aftermarket cooling solution for the x1900xtx would be a godgiven now!

i sure hope someone makes a review of that new zalman vf900 on a x1900 card... if anyone knows of one.. please post the link

I still wish Zalman would come out with a design that would exhaust all that heat outside the case. The nearby PCI slot is going to be unusable anyway . . .

I just don't get how companies continue to sell inferior products at premium prices just because the competition is lacking in certain sectors.

Nvidia is selling 7800GS 16 pipeline cards in AGP market for $300 and yet it sells 7900GT 24 pipeline cards for $300 in PCIe. Zalman sells a far superior to this puny 185gram cooler on the PC market in the form of CNPS7000 for $30. $50 isn't a lot of $ in the world of $500 videocards but it's the principle that counts. I guess there are always consumers who just dont care, probably same ones that paid $10,000 premium for Mercedes CLK over C class sedan...without knowing that it costs Mercedes less $ to make CLK than the latter model. I guess in today's society emotions rule the purchase decision and logic is out the window.

I'm getting 2 of these tomorrow for my GT's.
Cant wait to try em out!

It's the poor 7900 GT ram cooling thats made me take the plunge.

And I'll be getting one for my X1900 XTX cause I wanted to be quiet like my 7800GTX 512MB used to be!

Never even considered the CNPS7000!! The problem I would have is it would block all my PCI slots so no more sound card. Do they fit (holes line up) the graphics cards?? I agree with your thoughts on pricing. Selling less for more dollars bites.

Personally, I love both of my NV5R3 Silencers. My brother even showed me a link where they still beat the new Zalman in temps. I think the best though is that big Thermaltake monster heatsink, but I'd rather stay with my $30 upgrade from the stock coolers. (Well $60 I gues since I got two.)

I dont think you can fit CNPS7000 on a graphics card without using some creativity. The point I was trying to make is that that cooler sells for $30 to cool cpus and is a much better cooler. Yet the same company sells 185 gram copper (ok 1 heatpipe....) cooler for $20 premium?

Capt Caveman where can you even get the Sytrin heatsink? Hmmm it has a large fan on the side so it probably wouldn't work for 2 graphics card and 2 sytrin heatsinks though?

It just went out of stock at newegg - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835150072

Here's the main page of the product - http://www.sytrin.com/3B-II-2-b.html

There is another review with link at the bottom. Reading the other review for it, it says that it won't work w/ 2 graphic cards.

A guy over at XS ordered it w/ a X1800XT. I'm going to wait for his review before deciding.

I really don't care how great the Sytrin could be, the looks and size don't cut it for me.
Zalman's, now that one I can gladly show through my window!

Crap, my vf900 has not even been shipped yet, while the si120 with fans I ordered a day later already shipped. I might as well just slap on the vf700 and see what happens...

Do it! Do it! Then when your VF900 comes you can tell me if it's worth it for me to upgrade to the VF900 from my VF700!!:D
