I'm reading all the nightmare problems people are having trying to get this mobo to work. I have never built a computer b/4. Here is what I have assembled for the project:

ASUS A8V Deluxe K8T800PRO mobo
AMD 64 3500+ CPU
4 x 512 Rosewill PC3200 DDR400
Powercolor Radeon 9800 Pro 128 8X AGP video card
Samsung 160GB SATA Drive
NEC 3520A 16x DVD+/-RW
ALPS floppy drive
Windows XP Home
Zalman ZM400B-APS-400 Watt PS
LIAN-LI PC60USB2 Case

Can I expect any problems with this config? Should I change out the Mobo or anything else b/4 attempting to build??

Thank you all in advance!!

That looks great, nothing wrong with that board. If your into serious overclocking or gaming you might be better off with and Nforce4 board, but for general use the A8V is a great board.

My only recommendation would be, unless you have a specific need for 2gb of ram (heavy video editing, CAD, graphics design) stick with 2x512 as four sticks of ram carries a performance penalty on the current A64 systems(your ram drops from DDR400 1T to DDR333 2T). And over 1gb isn't utilized by 95% of the general apps and games

As far as build problems, don't base much on what you see here or on other forums, because 95% of the people that post are having problems and represent a very small portion of people who have bought the board. And because ASUS is a market leader and outsells the other makers there will always be more ASUS posts. And a large portions of the problems posted here are the result of user error and picking incompatible parts.

Your selection of parts looks great, I don't know anything about the Rosewill ram but I am familiar with all your other parts and they are excellent. Just read the manual front to back and take your time and you will be fine. There is an good builders guide at the top of the General Hardware forum here. And of course if you have any questions or problems feel free to post here.

Welcome to the forums and good luck!:)
