Novell environment question

We had an email called arball (which would send to everyone that worked here) , but I want to know how to access the list of people on this arball. What program can I use to access it? Or what should I look for on the server.

I have access to nwadmin, console one, and netware to the physical servers.

I also have access to the physical servers.

im confused, are you a sysadmin? if not some places can fire you for messin with server side stuff

i have never heard of arball

you want to log onto the physical sever as an admin, from there you should have access to everything. What version of netware are you running? i'm assuming this is novel XP 4.52sp2?

I am a sysadmin I guess, I have admin passwords, and the such.

We are merging from Novell to Windows, much easier to work with imo, but I am interested at getting this one specific list.

Alright, so you are running Novel's linux distro then.

a side point i might want to make, if you switch to windows, please please please buy novel for windows. it is very easy to manage and fixes nearly all the security issues with XP.

I just skimmed through my manual, i can't find any refrences to arball.. Is there any chance you run through Groupwise? thats the standard one...

This might help.. its highly technical

the point is to cut novell out entirely.

arball is just an email that was created and used by staff.

the purpose was to send an email to everyone that was 'attached' like a listserv.

so you would do arball@arboretum.umn.edu and it would send to 300+ people , or whoever was on that list, I want to see who was on that list. as we are migrating and would like to take that list with us 😀

Same goes with my company. They moved to everything Windows and got rid of anything Novell. Same with Groupwise. Things are much easier now.

I'd help you out on the email issue, except I came in just after the novell phase out. I'm all exchange now. 🙁
