I don't know what to do anymore...

We're running all our servers off of Novell right now and we're trying to migrate our windows machines to win2k. The only problem is that when we use the novell netware client to login, our win2k machines reboot right after the client tries to map a users drives. We're using client version 4.8 so it's the newest client out there. The problem can be avoided by turning off scripts, but then none of my drives are mapped. If there is any fix or solution to my problem I would love to hear it.

Yeah I'm running the client for win2k v. 4.8

My problems actually just came to exist in the last week. The only thing that has changed is that we had to replace a hard drive on one of our servers after it crashed, but the problem seems to have happened well before the crash. Everything worked fine for months and then out of the blue this is happening. We had the problem specifically with Dells up until now. I just don't get it.

try this, uninstall the client, then reinstall the client, however try a different long in script. go line by line, making sure that all everything goes right, perhaps you might find out exactly what the problem is, you see a machine rebooting when mapping a drive does not make much sense (but its possible)

ps: have you search at novell.com their knowledgebase is awesome (although their damn forums is suck)

When was the last time you did a DSREPAIR? I know that in my prior experiences with Netware 5.x, the logon problems are mainly due to a database corruption.

Or, Novell just might have a problem with thier latest client. This would not be the first time, or the last.

Post the login script(s) that are being executed for a user logging in from one of these PC's. Remember that users will inherit the container scripts.
