NovaLogic Comanche Benchmark Problems

I ran the Comanche Benchmark on my system a few times on different resolutions. When I started with 1024x768, i got 29.4 fps. But as I changed resolutions around to 640x480, 800x600, and 1600x1200, my fps got lower and lower. When I went back to 1024x768, my fps was down to 21.4. Can anyone tell me where this problem originates from and if there is a remedy to it? Thanks in advance

PS I apologize for posting this in the CPU section. I originally thought it ok because of the benchmark thread.
