I know there are already threads on the question I'm about to ask, but is Mozilla more customizable than Firefox?
I'm an Opera user right now, and I'm happy and all, but I think I may give this FF 1.0 a try.

Mozilla has more preferences availible in the preferences box. They both have the same amount availible through about:config. More people are writing extensions for firefox right now.

So the answer is a big maybe.

extra little additions to Firefox. usually created by people who don't work on the actual Mozilla team. They just make the tools to help the rest of us, and themselves.

i dl'ed the update through FF PR Update in Options. It's a great thing not having to download, unzip and blah blah .. or even uninstall and install again.
