Notification for when a website is updated?

UPDATE: Found something in Chrome Extensions called Page Monitor that seems to do exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks for the direction people 🙂

Is there a way for me to receive an e-mail for when a particular website changes?

One of my favorite authors publishes pieces of their writing on their website but only once every couple of months. Currently I just check it every so often but I'm thinking there must be a way to have Chrome or whatever simply routinely check it for me and just send me a quick e-mail whenever a change is detected.

Thanks

Check4change addon for Firefox will allow you to check pages at a certain interval (pre-defined or custom) and will notify you via sound / popup but I don't think e-mail is an option with it.

Edit: You can activate the e-mail function of Check4Change with a 'donation' to the author. The suggested donation is $14.99. Don't know if you can lower it or not.

Good luck OP.

Email notifications usually only happen if the website has a subscription checkbox. This usually requires registration on your part - simply that you wish to be kept up to date on their product.
