Noticed Something Cool On "Smallville" Tonight

During the initial and later appearances of the female vigilante character, they played the first few bars of Danny Elfman's "Batman" theme. At least that's what it sounded like to me.

I liked the proto-Huntress approach they took with her, though it would have been nice if they could have actually used the Huntress character. I guess the Birds Of Prey series ruled out any chance of that happening, though. 🙁

The bits where she actually wore her glasses to see rather than as a disguise, and changed clothes in the phone booth "because the janitor was in the bathroom" cracked me up.

You need to get laid.

According to Sigmund Freud, projection is a psychological defense mechanism whereby one "projects" one's own undesirable thoughts, motivations, desires, feelings ? basically parts of oneself ? onto something else (usually another person, but psychological projection onto animals, inanimate objects ? even religious constructs ? also occurs). The principle of projection is well-established in psychology.

To understand the process, imagine an individual (Gilligansdingy, for example) who feels another person needs to get laid (let's say ShotgunSteven), but whose unconscious mind will not allow him to become aware of the fact that he in fact is the one who needs to get laid. Instead of admitting to himself that he will die a virgin, he projects his feelings of loserdom onto ShotgunSteven, so that his conscious thought is not "I need to get laid," but "ShotgunSteven needs to get laid." In this way one can see that projection is related to denial, the only defense mechanism, some argue, that is more primitive than projection. Gilligansdingy has denied a part of himself that is desperate to come to the surface. He can't flatly admit that he needs to get laid, so instead he will project the feelings, thinking ShotgunSteven needs to get laid.

Fixed the second part so Gilligansdingy might be able to comprehend better.
