Noticed at Walmart (regarding posting of copies of black friday ads)

AFAIK, the big no no for Black Friday ads was linking to scans of the ads... Apparently, that somehow was a copyright violation under DMCA or something.....

Last night, at Walmart, I thought about some of the ads they have in the store.... they have signs that say "Proof our regular price is lower than their sale price:" and they attach a photocopy of the competitors ad.

So, is Walmart full of sh!t and those ads are fake?
Or, is Walmart breaking the law?
Or, is Best Buy (and others) simply using the threat of lawsuits at chubby wallet, etc. as a publicity stunt?

anyone else want to shoot that stupid smiley face in Wally Worlds comercials?

AFAIK, it was just another pissing contest between merchants and sites like FW

That's what I thought too, but they managed to get the links to scans of the ads removed... Now, if there was something wrong with that, walmart wouldn't be allowed to do it (post scans on their in store ads), would they?

I hear the latest development in this issue is to print ads with DMCA-compliant ink so they can't be scanned. 😉

Sometimes I see the commercials and think of Evil Otto of Bezerk (Beserk?)
