Thinking of getting 2 gigs of ram in my laptop. Is it worth spending more for the 667MHz DDR2 or should I go for 533MHz and save money?

If your processor doesn't have a 667 bus, then there's absolutely no gain. If your processor has a 667 bus, then you don't really have a choice...

This really isn't true. Core Duo has a 667 bus but you can also use 533 memory.

This is the case. I got a Dell E1705 (core duo 2ghz) with the stock 1gig 533MHz ram.
Just want to know if I'll see a performance difference between 533MHz with a cas latency of 4 and 667MHz with a cas latency of 5.

Ah...I'm not sure what the memory bandwidth situation is like on the new Duos, but I doubt the price/performance of 2GB of 667 (to replace the current 1GB of 533) is worth it over just buying another GB of 533...

I don't think there would be too much difference between 533 ram and 667. The dual channel of the ram will give more bandwidth than then what the processor can access. Plus, the higher CAS latency of the 667 will offset any speed gained by the higher clock speed of the ram.
