I first noticed on Mountain Dew but seems every can now has the wider opening. Guess that's a marketing ploy as one tends to drink faster and, thus, want another one sooner.

i thought that was to make the liquid pour smoother while drinking it. the smaller opening was more prone to that "glug glug" effect.

Yeah i first noticed them on Beer cans. the widmouth is for drinking it faster heh.

I would think that the can manufacturers would madate this as the soda companies have no real choice do they?

actually the code is written so a variable changes once the button is clicked, and when the function is called when the button is clicked a second time the function should not allow a repost. unfortunately due to caches if a message doesn't seem like it was submitted, stopped and resubmitted, the variable is cleared, and reposts are possible
