Hello all

Will I notice a difference if I upgrade from this setup to this setup

Current: xp 1600 Palamino
kt 266a m-board

Proposed: xp 2500 Barton
n-force 2

On the proposed side which is faster the t-bred 2600 or barton 2500?

Thanks

You should be able to notice a difference regardless, but I think it really depends on what you use your system for. As far as the TBred 2600/Barton 2500 goes, I'm going with the 2500 Barton because for one, it's cheaper, and two, it has more cache than the 2600. I really just wanted the 333MHz FSB and when I discovered that the 2500 Barton was cheaper than the 2600 TBred -- I'm all for that.

like their PR rating states, the 2600 will be faster, however the barton MAY pass it in some tests, the barton however is less exspensive and i would save money, so i would get the barton.

How difficult is it to configure the dual channel ram with the n-force 2?

its not difficult at all, just place one stick in the 2nd slot and another stick in the third slot
