I buy all my guns from private indiviual collectors with a selection you could never touch at a store and there is no paper trail either. I don't want the stupid government knowing which guns I own.

Got something to hide? I hope your house gets wiretapped.

Nice try. I have nothing to hide. All my weapons are legal but with all the gun grabbers running around these days there is no reason anyone should know what is in my collection except those I choose to share the info with. Wiretap my phone....you would be bored to tears and never hear me mention even one gun.

It goes something like this:

Me: I'll take this .44 Mag here.
Dealer: Okay, that's 550.
Me: Here you go:
Dealer: Let me just do the bg check here...*calls 1-800 number, talks 2 mins, hangs up*
Dealer: Ok, I'll run the card and you're all set.
Me: Thanks!

And I walk out with my new gun.

Living in a wannabe california that is controlled by probably the most corrupt mayor in the history of America has its downsides. 3 day wait for handguns, 1 day long guns.

Ouch! That stinks. Alaska is very kick-back with firearms compared to other states I've heard about. We don't even need permits for concealed carry, though we do need them if we wish to exercise the privilege in other states. I think a large part of it stems from the sheer number of people who hunt here. Guns are almost like a well-accepted part of life.

yeah i got a sister that lives in Alaska. she was shocked at how many had guns (in reach at that). now she gets suprised when she comes to IL and finds its hard to get a gun. And that i had to get a FOID card just to buy ammo.

Not with a department letter.

Sh1t! Depends on the state.
Some places he just needs to flash a badge and he can walk out with a gun.

I tried that once when I was on navy security.
(It didnt work. ;) )

Is a laser pointer necessary or is it just like having a third testicle, great for show, but useless in the end.

Its rediculous here. Daley and his thugs have made it near impossible to make any sort of progress when it comes to firearms. Until that dolt is out of office, the governors hands are tied (assuming we get a governor with some nuts, unlike the moron currently in office). Daley can spin up a storm when it comes to firearms, and the ignorant masses of chicago will buy it up.

There was a poll conducted here not too long ago asking Chicago area residents whether or not the mayor should be voted out of office because of the corruption that is just now getting in the spotlight. Some INSANELY high percentage said "We dont care, as long as he does his job."

WTF?

They say it helps with taget aquisition.

Some folks swear by it. Some folks say it developes bad habits.
I understand the official position with the military and most Police departments is "no deal".

No. :( Home defense purposes :)

It's better that way, though...I'd hate to end up relying on a laser (although the tasers have 'em :D).

Well mine is combined with the light, so it helps when aiming at night. However, a laser alone at night does ZERO good because it doesnt illuminate the target and it gives away your position. If I am gonna give away my position, I might as well see yours as well.

So, to answer your question...good for show, semi-ok for use.

of course people will vote that way. Chicago/il politics has always been corrupt. From Daley in the "bribes for license" to twhats her name taking money to buy a golf course. NOT to mention the toll authority. Nobody cares as long as stuff works because they are so used to it.

Don't get me started on the toll authority. That sh!t was supposed to end YEARS ago when the roads were paid for.

There should be a troll filter. One where a house is dropped on your precise coordinates.

What I am a troll because I oppose handgun posession? It what I beleive in, guns serve no purpose other than to kill and anyone who tells you different is full of bs.
