You just sit and don't even get to talk to each other. Go for a cup of coffee by a nice bistro or a nice stroll in a park. You can even do light activities.

Movies? Bad idea unless you guys get to the point of being comfortable with one another.

And don't blame the bad movie for your bad chemistry.

if it's a nice day, you really can't beat a nice park for a first date.

Completely non-threatening situation, plenty of time to talk, and plenty of things to talk about if conversation is lagging

It was so difficult to carry on with a conversation with my date after the movie.
I just want to warn you all, avoid this movie like the plague.

date = mail order bride?

Lorenzos Oil was a serious date killer for me. It was her idea too. Of course this was many years ago. :)

Wow. Yeah. Bad idea.

Yeah, and the kid died like last week or so. Lived nearly ~20 years longer than expected.

It's like it's ATOT's collective single nugget of dating wisdom and must be repeated ad nauseam.

because all of those are single dudes living with their parents and think they are Casanova.

All too ironic that this is mentioned in a thread about The Happening.

M. Knight Shyamalan = teh suck

Ok, he had one movie that was actually decent. Signs was good. The other ones though, The Village, Lady In the Water and now The Happening, blech. I don't watch his flicks anymore.

None of the movies you mentioned is any good. He has one good movie and that was Sixth Sense. Since then, it has all gone downhill. He's a freakin' tool as well from what I've heard and after hearing his interview I tend to agree with that.

Signs was good until he revealed that Aliens developed technology that could let them span galaxies, but they had a very difficult time breaking into a wood farm house and protecting themselves from water(on a planet they decided to visit that is covered by 70% water). Serious end of movie fail.
