Go to the task manager and look at the processes your system has running, and add up their mem usage. That should give you a good idea of where the memory is going.
To check it out, go to your Control Panel, System, Advanced, Performance Settings, Advanced. The Virtual Memory is at the bottom. You can change it but I wouldn't advise it.
