Police Responding To Shooting At Tulsa's Warren Clinic

Tulsa Police say the shooter is "down" after an incident at the Warren Clinic near 64th St and Yale Ave. Police say more than one person has been shot but have not determined an exact number. Police have shut down the area and are asking citizens to stay away from the area.
My friend works in the building nextdoor to this. The Warren Clinic complex is a very dense and busy medical area in Tulsa.

Just shorten.it to all semi-auto guns.

Revolvers, bolt-qction rifles, and pump-action shotguns generally aren't tacticool

NFA-ing all semi-auto handguns would be a much heavier lift politically than ARs, AKs, and similar. I'm not opposed necessarily, just think it's less realistic at this stage.

At least this Tulsa shooting was not an 18 yr-old but supposedly, if you can believe the authorities this time, a black male between 35 and 40 years old named Michael Lewis. He had back surgery in May and apparently was complaining about pain and wanted more treatment. I don't know if he was denied or was really, really unhappy about the treatment he had gotten or what.

Two of the dead were doctors, and one of these was the one who performed his surgery, Dr Phillips.

The shooter purchased the AR 15 style semi-automatic rifle from a gun store on Jun 1 and the semi-automatic 40 caliber pistol was purchased on May 29 from a pawn shop.

All this was from the live police update.

He walked into a room with kids and didn't fire a shot. Weird story. Half copy cat half suicide by cop? Sounds like he had every opportunity to shot several people and... didn't.

Maybe he got in there and just couldn't do it.

Yeah, I often think that most mass shootings stop because the reality of killing random people is much different than the fantasy of killing random people. Sounds like this guy may have hit that realization prior to actually killing anyone, thankfully.

-Ethan Crumbley was apparently drawing pictures of guns and people with bullet wounds hours before he opened fire in school. Crumbley's parents were also notified about this and didn't seem particularly worried about it.

just amazing

Last i heard the parents have gone 'missing'

An appellate court just ruled that the parents can be prosecuted for manslaughter.

This case seems especially compelling for parental liability.

In the opinion, the judges cited text messages from the months before the massacre in which Crumbley told his parents about experiencing paranoia and hallucinations, including his belief that a demon was throwing objects around the house. When his mother didn’t reply, he sent her another message asking, “can you at least text back.” His mother did not text back that day and was riding horses with James at the time, according to the opinion.
Crumbley also told a friend that he believed he was having a mental breakdown and asked his parents for medical help but that his father told him to “suck it up” and his mother laughed, according to the opinion.
