Nothing about Obama's classless remark about Nancy Reagan?

Not that I'm really surprised.

Uhhbama: "In terms of speaking to former presidents, I've spoken to all of them that are living, obviously President Clinton--I didn't want to get into a Nancy Reagan thing about, you know, doing any séances."

Point 1 - Nancy Reagan endorsed Obama. Nice show of appreciation, Barry. EDIT - Correction she did not, but she spoke very positively of him. Case of CRS on my part.

Point 2 - I always through the office of the President was above high school digs and insults. Glad to see were starting out with some change there, and that those pesky 87-year olds are fair game now.

Point 3 - Does anybody have an "Uhh" count of that press conference? Obama sounded like W with a hangover.

Point 4 - Obama actually was probably referring to Hilary with his seance remark, not Nancy.

I don't hate Obama. On the contrary I hope he's the best President this country has ever had, because if he's not, we're screwed (with all of the issues he faces, not because of any fault of his.)

Sniping at little old ladies in a press conference is not exactly an auspicious start.

He was trying to make a joke, it was obvious from how he said it he wasn't trying to go after her. He later called her personally and apologized. What other actions would you like him to take?

Poor XMan, so angry. So so angry right now.

No, it was a poorly-kept secret at the time that Nancy (Mommy) Rayguns consulted her astrologer before she allowed Ronnie to do anything...

Not angry at all, I'm in a great mood, actually.

Well whenever Bush sneezed over the last 8 years we've had threads on it here. Hell, there is an Obama puppy thread. This made the news last night, so its just as worthy of a thread.

It depends on context, Obama's joke was in poor taste, but he manned up. W. just made one about leaving the white house that was truly a sign of how out of touch with the common man he is. To paraphrase, he said that if you are about to be homeless and unemployed, he knows how you feel. That bent me when I heard it for some reason. :|

Its not easy being Abraham Lincoln and JFK especially when, all your life, people have thought of you as spooky.

yes that really lends some perspective on Obama's comment. People always say dumb things. I guess the President is no exception.

I'm surprised how people aren't ridiculing Obama for saying, "Ummmm" about a 100 times during his press conference.

Nancy Reagan and everyone else who believes in astrology and seances deserves to be made fun of.

When he began by saying 'living presidents', I thought about Nancy's 'Paranormal conjurs' before he even got that far in his comment.

Reagan and especially Nancy had this well know thing about the 'Spirits'.

Maybe Obama actually will talk with him some night in a walk through the halls of the Whitehouse.

Yes, I know. I too believe that ridicule is the exact magic and delusional thinking that causes the world to change for the better. It's what God does in his divine wrath. He warns us and then unleashes a lightning bolt of condemnation and you can look all around you to see how effective it is. Ah, the Mote in God's Eye.

If you believe in astrology, you're a dumbass. Obama just needs to filter a little better for the PC pussies.

What's interesting is the hypocritical double standard about how I've never seen anyone on the right seriously condemn the Reagans' behavior with astrology, while if Barack or other top democrats did the same thing, they'd go wild screaming about how it was against the proper religious values and showed mental instability and on and on.
