Notepad bug

Notepad converted everything into unusual characters. I don't think the first line followed the "aaaa aaa aaa aaaaa" sequence, but it might have.

Is there actually any way to translate this back to readable words? My Google-fu failed to turn up anything.

Also known as the 4-3-3-5 notepad bug. It's to do with opening it rather than saving so if you open it up on something else (such as wordpad) it should be ok.

Wordpad, Notepad++, Word... no change. :/

TextWrangler on the Mac lets you set encodings easily, though it opening badly in other programs doesn't bode well.

Is the document something you can share?
