Wouldn't it be easier to just set NPP as the default application for whatever file extension(s) you're working with?

If I need to create a new Notepad++ and do right click dosn't have an option for Notepad++
But to edit existing file, right click has an option for Notepad++

Ok. To edit an existing file with Notepad++, is just a shell context menu item for that file type. (In the Registry.)

To be able to create a NEW Notepad++ file, you have to create that file yourself, and place it into the location where Windows stores the "new file templates". Perhaps someone here knows which directory that they are stored under. Somewhere under Windows, I think, unless they're under your user directory or "Default User".

I don't think this is the case I have been using notepad ++ for long and on many computers but with windows 7 OS not windows 10 none of them I needed it to do so,,,,and even when I posted my question to Notpad++ community they didn't ask me to do that.

Apologies if I missed it, but are you selecting the comtext menu options from within Notepad++?
