how does on-board wifi plan to work ? Do they have screens where the person next to you can't read it unless they are looking from directly in front of it ? I have security issues... I don't feel comfortable typing / reading things while the person next to me is staring... (no I don't have porn in mind).

Howzat? This is an open 802.11* network on the airplane we're talking about. You would have to provide your own laptop. As such, the security of that laptop is up to you...

I think Business and First class has outlets that you can plug your laptop into provided you have a compatible adapter. If you're in economy, you're probably out of luck. Watch the movies, some airlines have handheld video games also.

man speaks the truth.

Well looks like I won't be flying on Lufthansa afterall- long story. Anyway, I'm on Delta. So far it looks like they have no on-board wifi, however check this out:

Looks like what some of you have mentioned already for some other airlines... need a special power source to plug into it and apparently from the way they make it sound, there's a plug available on every seat in the 767-400. Now, I know I'm on a 767, but not sure which model. Although, now looking at SeatGuru it looks like the 767-400 is very new and only on flights to Hawaii 🙁

Ah well, I bought an extra battery so hopefully two primary batteries will last me most of the flight.

Are DVD movies particularly taxing on notebook power? I would assume so...
