Notebook with Portrait (rotating) Display?

Are there any notebooks / netbooks with displays that can rotate into Portrait mode?

Most notebooks have small-er screens compared to the comfortable 21" + desktop screens. With the advent of widescreen it seems many have very little vertical resolution. It is a luxury on the desktop to swivel the display from landscape to portrait orientation--has anyone bothered to bring this killer feature to portable computers?

It seems like a no brainer and would make working with documents a LOT easier!

I have searched and I cannot find anything like this.

it's been out for years on laptops.

hp has this. it's a tablet notebook pc, so you can write on it too. toshiba is a contender as well.

if you want to get really crazy, the apple ipad will do this as well, quite well actually! but I'm not an apple fan 'cuz stuff-add-ons is/are much more universal on pc's.

Tablets don't allow you to type with the screen in such a rotation. I guess I should have been clearer when I mentioned working on Documents in Portrait mode, i.e. Typing long papers in Word with a keyboard.

The thought of writing with a stylus for a 5,000 word report... ouch!

The iPad isn't a notebook or netbook + they keyboard is completely separate.

As for Tablet PC's the Keyboard on the device is useless for typing when you physically rotate the screen.

Maybe I should be clear as I am looking for the ability to run Word and other Windows apps, while using a Keyboard, with a Portrait oriented display, on a Mobile devise:

=> Notebook / Netbook, etc
=> Runs standard Windows Software
=> Can utilize the keyboard
=> While the screen is *PHYSICALLY* rotated into Portrait mode

(It isn't difficult to get the display to be in Portrait mode--the problem is I, personally, cannot read or write with my letter running from bottom to top.)

I haven't found anything like this.

I guess the next best thing would be

* A Tablet / Convertable +
* A very small stand that supports Portrait (that can fit into laptop bag) +
* A small keyboard that cal also fit into a laptop bag

Or, . . . feed a separate monitor from your laptop. I use a split screenon my laptop and see two pages side by side.

Or, . . . let your laptop screen be portrait (sideways) and rotate it and use an external keyboard (USB.) (Your 3rd next best thing.)

Can you do remote access over adhoc or remote access over a shared network over the Internet of some sort? Then, you can use your laptop for typing and then setup the Ipad in portrait mode for your display; then you won't have to rely on powering a second monitor?

Or, depending on how good your vision is, you can get a 1920 x 1xxx display resolution laptop so you can see more content?

just get a tablet (the thing without a keyboard) and a bluetooth keyboard. done.

check out motion computing they usually have some cool design$
