notebook with 945pm express and 4gb ram

I have a cure 2 duo 7600 hp laptop (nw9440) witch uses the 945pm express chipsett. I have 4GB (2x2gb so-dimm) installed. I am however unable to use more than 3,455gb ram.

I know there are some limitations in windows XP/vista 32 so i have installed vista 64bit but i still get the same results.

Now the weird part is that when i install the second ram chip i get the bios prompting: Ram changed to 3.455GB F1 to accept, F2 to reject, F10 enter bios. If i then either enter F1 and then enters bios or presses F10, the bios report 4096MB of ram.

Is this a limitation in the chipsett/bios on the nw9440 machines, or is it a limitation in the 945PM express chipsett or is there anything else wrong?
