Do you mean DVI somewhere in there?

EDIT: oh, you mean you want to take the LCD panel out of the laptop and then somehow adapt a standard VGA output to give it a signal?

yes exactly. I want to install it in my case side panel and hook it up to my 9500 pro so i could lan party without taking my moniter along everywhere.

It would probably be much easier to go from a regular LCD monitor and take that apart to do it, but I'm assuming you want to do this sinc eyou have a laptop laying around or something.

I don't think there would be an easy way to convert a laptop to do this (especially considering you'd need to supply power to the screen somehow too)

I've seen smaller low res screens made for purposes like this, but I don't remember seeing anyone using a screen from a laptop.

Unless you're really concerned about space, it would probably be easier, safer, and possibly cheaper to just pick up an LCD monitor as cheap as they are now.

i am already using a 19 inch widescreen lcd on my desktop. i just wanted to see if it was easy enough to accomplish just for the hell of it. i thought maybe somebody just made an adapter to plug into the output of the lcd that would allow you to plug it into a vga card. I didnt think it was an ordeal. but thats cool it was just an idea i had that i thought would be cool cuz i had an hp laptop that got soda spilled in it and wasted the mobo. thanks for the input and if anybody reads this and happens to have done it or knows how by all means please fill me in🙂
thanks
