thinking of buying the Dell Inspiron 4000, anyone have any links on how its opened up and such?? Is it difficult??


One more question, do you think the inspiron 4000 is a reliable computer?

the only thing you can upgrade for laptop is their hard drive and ram--that's about it. And also their cpu on certain model which dont the cpu welded to the motherbaord

but how do you go about opening it up, for example I have a older ibm thinkpad w/ only a 1.2gb hdd how would I open up the laptop?? Are there any sites that have schematics of laptops??

For HDs, there is a slot for them. You dont have to open up the entire notebook, just find where it is.

I had an i4000. Very poorly built computer. Lots of compromises, and design flaws (Lots of screens hit keyboards, speakers used to blow motherboard when turned up, so instead of fixing the problem, they limited to max volume to under what most 1 speaker ultraportables can do).

I upgraded the HD and the Ram. Piece of cake. Some of the other things are more difficult.
