I searched for any related topic regarding CPU upgrades for notebooks, so far I've come up empty, and since I'm a lil bit lazy, i'll just go ahead a ask.

I have a Gateway MX3225 notebook, and I was planning on swapping the Celeron M 1.5 Dothan for a Pentium M 1.5 Dothan mainly for the battery life. I've researched a bit on the processor and its pretty much identical except for the L2 cache (1MB Celeron vs 2MB Pentium), and having a 478 pin. I took apart and checked my notebook and it does have a socket type instead of the soldered type. So I would guess that the processor can be swapped out. My question is, will this process in any way harm my notebook? sorry for the long story. lol

thanks again!

...ehh, the topic went elsewhere on that thread, something about 64bit OS, with only one person saying that its possible to swap CPUs, with a C2D though, not a Celeron M/Pentium M...
