The speakers on my new laptop suck pretty bad. The opening is almost underneath the laptop, which causes the sound to be dampened. Anyway, I'm looking for some good laptop speakers. I probably going to buy these but checked eBay and they have a ton of screen-mounted speakers. Just wanted to know if anyone has used them, otherwise I'm going with the Creatives... :)

Creatives = $70-90.

"Screen mounted speakers" = <$20.

I think I'd try the screen mounted version. Obviously you could always egay them for a good portion of your $$ back if you didn't like them. I'm sure the Creative ones probably work well; the question is.......is it worth 4X the money? Hmmmmm.

I can get the Creatives for ~$50 at work. Money really isn't important to me, I just want something awesome... :)

Don't really think you could classify those creative speakers as awesome.
Maybe good at best.

Well here is something to consider then
BOSE Media Mates
I am not a big fan of Bose speakers in general but these things are very good for they're size and some really good bass for a 2 piece set
$99 bucks @ Best Buy

I'd prefer portable ones since I use my laptop on the go. If I needed sound at home, I'd hook it to my Klipsch... :)

Look for usb ones. Then you don't have to listen from the crap integrated notebook sound cards.
