Notebook recommendations

I guess the long and short of it is I have to buy 2 laptops for a customer and not sure on what make/model is the best bang for the buck.

I was going to just order up some Dell Latitudes but figured I'd ask in here first.
These would be strictly "business" laptops for running spreadsheets, accounting programs etc. Lots of traveling so I don't want some POS that is going to fall apart on them.

Docking station availabilty would be a big plus.

Any suggestions/comments GREATLY appreciated.

IBM Thinkpad T series or the X series is good for travel. The T41 at work travels a lot and it's still ticking along. It even got dropped on it's corner and an inch portion of the plastic broke off, exposing the metal frame. Nothing else wrong. Definitely a solid machine.

Both has docking stations.

My Thinkpad X22 is P3-M 800mhz and it's speedy enough for all the things I do. Except games, which I don't play on it. Counterstrike works fine on it. They probably don't need the latest and greatest, but something solid.

I can push down or squeeze on any part of the laptop, except the center of the lcd lid, and it won't budge. Like a brick and only 3.6lb with 4hours battery life.

If you considering 2 laptops, then Dell Inspiron 600M & 6000 are great choices. My students and I have used these coupons to save a lot on our laptop orders.

high budget? get a ibm. U'll never hear a complaint about anything on them.

Low Budget: get a dell with coupons or go on the business lease program with 1 dollar buy off.

Either way, there is really no comparison when u look at ibm vs dell. The only dell's that would ever splash my mind would be the higher end 17 inch screen versions. But for anything sub 17, ibm will rape dell in durability/quality.

PS. Ive also dropped my T41P off my desk to the floor, and all i had was scratches.
there are docking stations for most ibm's also.
