notebook pc's that let you slide the ac adapter into a multi-bay?

Never heard of such a beast. There have been some designs in the past in which there simply was no external adapter. The user just plugged one end of a power cord into the notebook and the other end into the wall (or surge protector or whatever). Toshiba used to make a lot of systems with that form factor. I'm not sure that anyone does nowadays, though.
