Notebook Memory Upgrade Problem

Hi Folks - I have an Acer 1691 WMLi with a single 512 chip and I would like to add another. Everest says it is a DDR2-533 (PC2?-4200) chip, but Patriot and Corsair's websites says it is a DDR-333 (PC-2700). Any advice? Acer's website doesn't go into any detail other than DDR2.

Go with Everest?

Isn't it WLMi?

Open the memory door on the bottom of the laptop and look at the markings on the memory itself. If it's not there then you'll need to pull the keyboard.

Thanks for the replies. It is an Aspire 1691 WLMi (just like the one in the review) with a Pentium M 725/ 1.6GHz, 400MHz FSB and 2MB L2. Under "Chipset" in Everest it says "DRAM Slot #1 - 512 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM)". CPU-Z under "SPD" says 512 MB 512 DDR2 SDRAM and PC4300 (266MHz), made by Nanyo 35th week of '05.

So it looks like it is indeed DDR2 - any opinions on whether this Corsair chip is a good match?
CORSAIR ValueSelect 512MB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 533 (PC2 4200)

I could not find a PC4300 ala CPU-Z, but it seems to be the closest.

As an aside, I have four USB controllers and one USB2 Controller - odd as I only have three USB ports?!?
