Notebook "leaking" electricity...

ugh

HELP! My notebook is leaking electricity (I'm sure there's a better phrase). I've tested this with a test pen and the led lighted up when I touched certain parts of the notebook. Any idea how/what is causing this b4 I send this back to the shop? Is it still safe to use the notebook?

TIA.

OK, so you have a notebook and you take something like a circut tester to the outside of the case and that sucker lights up?? If that is truely what is happening, shut that sucker down and send it for repair. No, if it's on battery it probably can't kill you but if it's plugged in and doing this, I wouldn't mess with it anymore. Either way it would have to be sent in for repair as there must be some sort of short. Could there be any cracks or anything around the power input area that would allow this short? What about the battery; is it installed and locked in properly?

I haven't tried it w/o it being plugged in. I'll try it out later. Problem is, I can only send this s*cker to the repair shop in the weekend.

What type of laptop is it? Dell? Toshiba? Sony? etc...

Not sure whether if you've heard of it, it's a TwinHead notebook.
