Hi all,

I am planning on buying a new notebook computer for a friend, as I broke hers. (long story)

I've never even owned a notebook my self, though most of the hardware I am familiar with. I am not, however, familiar with the LCD.

At Dell.com they have XGA, SXGA, and UXGA options.

I've done some limited research on them and I have two questions.

1. Apparently the UXGA display has a super high resolution. Does this mean the text is super small? (to the point a person may have trouble reading it) If so, can the resolution be lowered?

2. Is the difference between the 3 enough to justify the increased price? (in other words, is it a very noticeable display quality increase, or not really?) Also, how big a diffrence between XGA/SXGA and SXGA/UXGA? Can someone recommend one?

Thanks very much for any feedback!
