I have a problem with the backlight of my Notebook LCD ...
There seems to be a loose wire or something so when I open the display fully (like you normally do) the screens seems to be blank (if you go really close you see that it's actually on but you can't really see it)

Any help suggestions ... I don't really want to open this up to take a look if i can fix it as I don't know how the case of the LCD (and for the whole Notebook) is fit together ...

Does anyone know a good repair shop in LA that might be able to help me with this?
(it is a no name brand notebook!!)

You might check here:

Laptops

It could be a simple loose connection, and also could be a bad backlight. Both things happen.

It should ne only a simple loose connection as tapping on the base of the lcd (where it is connected to the laptop) and repeatedly opening and closing the screen "fix" the problem momentarily but it is annoying as h***

Did you do business with them?
Are they expensive?
(Any idea how much this would cost?)

Pop it open, its just a few screws and a matter of prying open the tabs on the LCD bezel

The main problem it usualy a bad FL inverter board (dont touch it when the machine is powered)

but you may get lucky and its just a loose cable

I called them but they are closed on the weekend.
Since this is my work-laptop (and the only computer currently in my house) I would like to get this fixed as fast as possible.
Anyone know of a repair-shop in LA that is open and works on weekends?
