hi. i just bought a used IBM R30 notebook. the hardware manual i found online says to use PC133 memory. i'm pretty new to upgrading notebooks/laptops so i was wondering...

do most notebook's (old ones like mine) use 144-pin sodimm memory?

thanks

Yes - 144 pin SODIMMs are pretty much standard for the last few years.

Specifically go to Crucial, enter IBM, you Thinkpad product line and pick your model. There are three series of R30. You will get a specific memory module. Example:
