Howdy folks,

I just got myself a bare bone IBM X31 a few days ago. I have been looking around for a hard drive to install into roughly 80-120GB. Ive looked at Seagate, Hitachi, Fujitsu, and Samsung. I am looking for a hard drive that can withstand constant travel. I am a student and always have my lappy inside my backpack. Pleas share you insights! Much appreciated . .so far Seagate looks good for now.

Currently Seagate is excellent. And, for 2.5" laptop drives, so is Toshiba. You can get a 120 in either - even a 160. For your use, I recommend the 5400 RPM - they are a little more rugged for "off road" use.
