I am planning to buy a notebook in the next few weeks, but am not sure which display adapter is currently the best choice. I know that I must decide between the GeForce2Go from NVIDIA, and the Mobility Radeon 7500 from ATi. Although the notebook will obviously be used mostly for application software (MS Office, Internet Explorer, etc.), I'd also like to make sure that it comes with acceptabe 3D performance in today's and yesterday's games. (I understand I cannot expect Radeon 8500- or GeForce3-like graphics, and I don't care about that at all.) Given the choice between the two above-mentioned solutions, which would you prefer -- and most importantly, why? I assume ATi has the better 2D quality, but which excels on other points?

Are you serious?!

The thing is that when I checked on the ATi Mobility Radeon a few weeks ago, they spoke of a 16MB DDR version, whereas NVIDIA's GeForce2Go came with 32MB DDR. However, when I was configuring a notebook on the Dell website (after posting this message), I noticed that they offered a 64MB DDR Mobility Radeon.

My guess is that ATi is definitely the way to go at the moment then?

You sound like your describing the original radeon with 16meg ram. Make sure you buy the radeon 7500. I don't know if radeon 7500 came out but if it didn't it will come out soon.
