I have a Toshiba Satellite 1405-S151. My laptop has a Cyber Alladin GPU and I was wondering if there is a way to replace it with some thing better. I would like to get an nvidia or radeon type GPU if possible. Right now I'll take anything better than 16mb of GPU. Ohh and i'm not affraid to take apart my laptop to install it.

You can't upgrade gpus like you would a desktop because of motherboard support and space. The only thing you can do is find the best video card that specific laptop came with and put that in.

If you want a laptop with a modern graphics card good enough for light 3D gaming, expect to spend about $800.

With a coupon (check deal sites like GottaDeal.com) this should get you a Dell Core Duo (intel dual-core), 1 GB RAM, 60-80 GB HD, DVD burner, and Radeon X1400 graphics.

That $500 HP will be speedy, but only has intel motherboard graphics that just barely play years-old 3D games. Great if you're a Quake 3 fan :)

Hey, it's a dx9 integrated graphics chip with performance on par with a high end geforce 2.
