Notebook CPU Choice

It's hard to find reviews on the performance on amd/intel cpu chips for notebooks (and I never buy notebooks myself). I need some advice to give to a family relative who wants to buy a notebook pc.

Basically, the choices are...

Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5300(1.73GHz/2MB L2Cache) +$175.00
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5600(1.83GHz/2MB L2Cache) +$225.00
Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T7200 (2.0GHz/4MB L2Cache) +$325.00
AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-50(1.6GHz/512KB) +$100.00
AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-56(1.8GHz/1MB) +$135.00
AMD Turion(TM) 64 X2 Dual-Core TL-60(2.0GHz/1MB) +$175.00

The + sign is how much more it would cost from a major PC manufacturer such as HP, Dell, etc (everything else being more or less the same). So the price difference is at most (325-100=$225). Everything is in US dollars.

The laptop's parts wouldn't be upgraded at any point in the future - what's in there stays there till the laptop dies. And oh yeah, definitely no overclocking of any kind.

If anyone knows of any great notebook deals from a widely-recognized retailer/manufacturer in US, let me know too. The computer's going to be used for basic everyday tasks, nothing strenuous.

If it's basic every day tasks, I would go with the Celeron M or Sempron and save some money. I'm using a Celeron M @ 1.4GHz Gateway laptop, and it's doing well for me. Make sure that you get at least 1GB of RAM. www.deals2buy.com sometimes lists some good deals on Laptop.

I have a Compaq Presario V5305WM with 2.00 GHz Mobile AMD Sempron? Processor 3300+, bought in November 2006 at Walmart for ~$400.

Replaced the 512MB module with 2x1GB PC2700 (!) RAM, replaced the 60GB 2MB Cache HD with Seagate 80GB 8MB Cache HD, got the Express Upgrade to Vista Home Premium, and cannot imagine a better laptop for the money, for spending countless hours on this forum.
