Notebook Buying Advice

Normally I'd enjoy digging around for several hours to do laptop research, but I'm buried with work and am hoping to leverage the collective wisdom of the Anandtech Forums.

I'm looking to upgrade my 4 year old laptop, and would greatly appreciate thoughts and suggestions.

These are the key features I'd like:

- 13.3" or 14" screen with 1080p (or higher) screen
- touch capability is a nice to have but not essential
- i5 or i7 CPU
- high quality finish
- backlit keyboard
- < 1" thick
- $1000 or less

Don't need (or can upgrade myself):

- SSD
- RAM
- discrete graphics

A few notebooks that may fit the bill:

- Lenovo Yoga 13 / Pro 2
- Toshiba Kirabook
- Acer S7-392
- Samsung Ativbook 9
- Asus UX31A Zenbook

I plan to be shopping around holiday time when deals strike, so I want to be ready with a short list.

Thanks!

Strike those off, still on Ivy Bridge. Yoga 2 Pro is a great deal on the 1150$ model, it's on sale now, just grab that. You can't upgrade yourself and it's a damn good dead for 8 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. Buy that ASAP.
