Notebook Battery - Where to Buy?

Guys,

I'd like/need some recommendations on where to buy a battery for an IBM ThinkPad 560 notebook. I've found batteries from $69 to $200, depending on the vendor. I'm not interested in spending $200 on this unit, but I would spend $100. A couple of places I've looked are Simple Micro and Impact Computers & Electronics. Any reason to avoid either of these vendors?

TIA,

Jeff

How in the world did you find prices of $69 - $200?

I would recommend doing some searching on eBay, the 46H4144 is selling for around $20 and the 46H3969 is selling for around $16. I've even seen some brand new never opened never used still sealed batteries going for around $60 shipped.

I was weary about buying laptop accessories online but I was able to help a co-worker buy an IBM ThinkPad i series A/C adapter for $40 vs the $80 retail price. Helped her save a bundle and the adapter works just fine.

RossMAN, thanks for the links. The prices I mentioned were for new items, via internet retailers. I certainly don't need new.

Then I would definitely buy a battery from eBay just make sure that you're getting the CORRECT part number, it's in good or new condition and from someone who has a lot of positive feedback.
