Probably the same thing that made me take the cover off of an old 640 meg HD, plug it in and watch it spin, draw on it with a marker while it spun, then unplug it and break, er, take apart and analyze every last component.

It was a laptop drive. was locked, with apparently no way to unlock it. it was only 4GB anyway.

did that with a 120mm panaflo on accident, was checking the heatsink temperature, accidentally got a finger in the fan. Blade went shooting off the fan, and finger started bleeding. That was a while ago though.

When I had a ferret, she was hiding rasins in my shoes (As usual) and on the way back from a rasin run, she tried to take a look in my open computer case (I was doing an upgrade), and stuck her schnoz right in a black label Delta. THWUMP! She shook her head for a few seconds, winced a bit, and went right back to hiding rasins in my shoes. She said "The hell" with looking in that mean case again.

It had to hurt like hell.
