You can't put 4GB of ram in an android phone because android is 32bit.
Sort of, sort of not.

Natively, 32-bit addressing maxes out somewhere between 3 and 4 gigabytes. IIRC one version of Windows had some sort of addressing extension to allow access to a full 4 gigabytes.

So conceivably you could install 4GB of RAM in the phone with the plan to support a 64-bit version of Android. It would still work fine with a 32-bit OS...just not necessarily addressing a full 4GB.

But we'll find out next soon.....

So if 4GB has been confirmed and 32bit isn't a good match for 4GB then perhaps that says the Note 4 will come with Android 5.x which, if memory serves me, is 64bit.

I guess we'll know in a few/dozen hours...

Unpossible, samsung can't beat google to the punch.

Yeah, I guess I haven't been following the Android release closely enough but I thought 5 was announced and that the only holdup was the inevitable delay the makers/carriers have with pushing it out.

Once again, we'll know more in a few hours -- I hope...

Looks like a metal frame too - finally. They need to give more info but it looked chamfered like the Alpha which I liked the look of quite a bit.

Gear VR to be powered by the Note 4 and not necessarily a standalone computer - interesting.

Dynamic lock screen sounds unexciting, but that's something that I've been wanting for awhile. I'd rather have a slideshow of pics on my lock screen than my background.

The female presenter is struggling quite a bit - seems like she's supposed to add color commentary but it just isn't flowing.

Loving the new multi-window!

They've really expanded the S-Pen, the multi select for images and text is awesome, 100x better than using a finger.

Where has Snap Note been all my life?

Damn Samsung finally put everything they could into a phone:

- 4GB of RAM
- metal frame
- OIS with 16MP camera
- rear camera trigger
- QHD screen which reports say is phenomenal
- S-pen with some new features

Dang 0 to 50% charge in 30 minutes, very useful as I often only have a small amount of time to charge when I find out I'm gonna be out late.

One thing I like about Samsung is that they are willing to come out with other products alongside the usual fanfare. Most other companies would never bother with taking the risk. While I personally don't really dig the Edge, it's cool that they're bringing it out cause I'm sure there are some people out there that want it.

Hmm some of the things they used the edge for were kind of interesting. Scrolling notifications, app controls that don't have to take up main screen space, quick controls.

That's true. There will be a lot of people talking $^#@ about the Note Edge or simply make fun of it. The reality is more choice is better for the consumer. This is how innovation progresses.
