Note 3 odd hearing issue please help

Hellow fellows, i think my phone is having an odd problem. It is a Samsung Note 3 with a 8500mah extra battery. If I phone another one, person on the other side can hear me but I cannot hear anything. Sometimes the problem fixes itself but most of time not. Before I send it to the repair centre can any one give me a suggestion? Thanks.

I had that problem with a phone I once had. I think the headphone jack may have been loose/shorting, which muted the mic in the phone.
