Not your normal Monday--Police chase **Update**

I went out with my best friend(jeweleeann), her daughter, her daughter's friend, and her nephew. We were supposed to take the kids to go bowling. We live in a relatively small community. We get to the place and as soon as we park and get out of the car, about 15 police cars start going down the street towards the beach. Then, we look overhead and there was a police chopper. She grabbed her camcorder out of her trunk and we walked in the direction of the chase. (Smart, huh? lol) I guess there was a guy that (I heard anyway...don't know the whole story yet.) ran over a highway patrolman. He was trying to outrun the police. He was going up one-way streets and had a surfboard that was on top of his truck barely attached so when he drove by me, he went around a corner and the board hit a truck. Ultimately, he (I think) drove his truck off a small cliff and then ran to the beach and jumped in the ocean. It was on the news here, but I didn't get home until a little while ago to see if any of what I thought was true. (Besides what I saw myself) Thisismatt, did you see any of it or see it on tv?

It was weird because we see it on tv and stuff with it in L.A., but it never happens here. We were walking through town trying to see what was going on and my friend was trying to get it on film. It was pretty cold and windy outside. I don't know how he stayed in the water so long. He wasn't in a wetsuit or anything, just his regular clothes. Freaky. Oh, and he was waving around a hammer or something too. LOL

****Update****

I just watched the 11:00 news. Apparently, the guy had road rage and stabbed someone at a mall or something. He drove from there about 20 or so miles to the beach area where he did drive off a small embankment onto the beach. Then, he went into the ocean and walked about a half a mile and finally gave up and turned himself in.

That's wild. Last really big police chase here was well over a year ago. The chase ended when suspect ran a stop sign and hit another car, killing a man who was visiting from Iowa. :|

Thats what any of us would of done. Why is it we as humans are so intrigued by police chases, accidents and what not. This includes me, I have done my share of "rubber-necking" and wanting so bad to follow cops as they go blasting down the freeway after somebody....Dont do that, the cops dont like it.

LOL When they were on the beach, there were a lot of people there. They kept using their loudspeaker to tell people to get off the beach (No, we weren't on the beach.) but no one would listen. They started getting pretty mad at them.....which is very understandable.

Well, in my update I posted that he stabbed someone in a mall or something because of road rage. I have no idea how that person is.
