Filesharing by itself, is in no shape way or form prohibited in Sweden, including Kazaa, sharing copyrighted work on a P2P network is.
As for programs to bypass copyright schemes, we have kind of a DMCA lite here.
It is forbidden to bypass "pure" copyright schemes, what exactly is defined as "pure" I'm not entirely certain.
Region coded DVD's do not count for example, neither do programs that install on your computer to allow you to play(such as that driver autoinstall copy protection scheme), and you're allowed to do pretty much anything you can if you have to to ensure you can view/listen to a disc under any OS.
As usual the Swedish government has made things more complicated than they should be, so I honestly can't say what you can and can't do with regards to copy protection circumvention, you'd need a lawyer for that.
It is actually quite simple, this is an EU wide law, it is illegal to circumvent the copy protection to distribute illegal copies or to use illegal copies.
A No-CD crack is illegal if you use it to install an illegal copy or a second copy on a system that anyone else than the license holder of the software owns.
It is pretty much the same all over the world with the exeptions being Hong Kong and Taiwan.
That is it.
Sounds far better, the way this is all worded gives me a headache though.
A friend of mine is studying to become a lawyer, when he's done, I'm gonna have him read all of that crap instead 😛
Holy $hit, this was alot more posting than I'm used to...
I know, the swedish translation of this law makes my head spin, the german version is better and the Finnish translation is a lot better than that, it could be because i am Finnish though. 😉
